A visit to Girvan Distillery (owned by William Grant & Sons) will take place on Monday 12th September.
William Grant & Sons distils some of the world’s leading brands of Scotch whisky, including Glenfiddich®, The Balvenie® range of handcrafted single malts and Grant’s® blended Scotch.
Its distilled spirits portfolio also includes Hendrick’s® Gin, Sailor Jerry® Rum, Monkey Shoulder® Triple Malt Whisky, Tequila Milagro and Reyka® Vodka.
The Girvan Distillery site is home to both the Girvan grain distillery and the Ailsa Bay malt distillery, as well as the production of Hendrick’s® Gin. A new anaerobic plant is also located within the Girvan Distillery site. The plant receives the effluent from the whisky distillation process and treats it to produce a bio-gas, which in turn is fed to gas engines that generate electricity and steam.
